How can you say such a thing. I'm being very serious indeed. Having butter but no bread shouldn't be laughed at, and is incredibly mundane. I have home made blackcurrant jam...........and I have bread as well.

We have put 5 out of 10 fenceposts into the ground in the back garden. They are not best straight but by the time that the plants grow up the fence nobody will be any the wiser.

I don't care. Those post holders, with the long spikes, took a lot of hammering in. We've got gravel and all sorts about a foot down (which is how long the things stay straight for). When the plants grow, it'll be fine.

Had a joyless evening asking Google if the fact that my son had been gorging on runner beans eaten straight from the garden meant he'd been risking food poisoning. After about 40 minutes, the answer turns out to be 'Possibly. Probably not, but possibly.' My life is one long roller coaster of wild experiences. And now it's raining. The gladioli will be ruined.
