Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
We finally decided to leave the cobwebs undisturbed today and go out and enjoy ourselves.

My house seems to be a magnet for cobwebs. Still at least the spiders get rid of flies in the summer

I just walked into the bathroom to find Hover fly crouched over, with a mug from work floating in the bath. It turns out that he, the boss and one of the volunteers (a highly qualified naval architect) have a challenge to sail a mug across the model boat pond at work.
You will let us know who wins.

Its a good sign, if the spiders like the place it must be a good place to live, Our first house had a railway bank at the back of it, we always knew at the end of autumn when the winter bad weather was about to arrive, we got an insect invasion and I'd get brassed off with the number of insect evictions I was doing.

We came past the lake today, I always find it a bit unsettling driving, or riding down the road that goes past the the dam, I can't help glancing at the big earth bank on one side of the road and think about the amount of water behind it.

Know what you mean. I watched The Dam Busters again the other day. Wouldn't want to live beneath that thing.

Anyone thinking about cycling in the Forest of Dean any time soon needs to get their rear into gear quickly. The bluebells in Soudley Woods are getting very near their best show right now. I reckon they'll be past their best (or overtaken by ferns) by next weekend. If you ride up through Soudley and turn towards Mallards Pike (lake) there will be a fantastic show of bluebells for a mile or two - second to none I've ever seen. It's a lovely ride with lots of road routes or forest trails you can divert onto.

The climb up Purley Chase on the outskirts of Mancetter is usually good for Bluebells this time of year, though they might be about to go over about this time, we seen loads whilst we we out today.

I've just done two days worth of washing up, now I'm off out to ride my bike.
