I just went out to my nearest proper pub. 12 bikes outside, a pint of Slater's Supreme American Beer (a very cheeky wake-up beer - 4.7%), a pint of Colchester Brewery's Tintorantes Gold (a fairly subdued but subtle 4.8%) and then a malty calm-down London Pride from Fullers (4.1%).

I was just about to watch the Boat Race - until I saw how they are americanising the interminable introduction of the rowers, and how it has somehow been re-named "the Boat Race with NYC Mellon". Next week we have the semi-finals of the "FA Cup with Budweiser", when two sets of fans will have to drive the entire length of the country to watch an over-priced semi at Wembley. Enough with all this commercialisation crap! Think I'll just ignore the lot and go off out for more "Bike Rides with Tesco Flapjacks" instead.

You'll be winning the Gold Cup at Cheltenham if you keep doing that!

I spent ten minutes fruitless trying to boot up my Etrex20 after installing an OSM map of France before discovering that I'd put the batteries in the wrong way round.
