Thank you everyone. My oh is downstairs making me a very nice dairy free chocolate birthday cake which was test and taste driven 2 weeks ago...
I also spent the morning visiting the drs for more opiates and the likes (the better stuff). Thankfully she could see how much I was hurting and what it had cost me to do the 5 minute car journey and has issued more, plus increased the dose of something to help me sleep and written in my notes that the next lot in a weeks time should be done over the phone rather than me coming in. If life is not easier in 2 weeks time I need to speak with my consultant's secretary to get in sooner than a 6 week review from after the op.
This afternoon had been spent watching DVDs on the laptop trying for sleep... Perhaps something less violent and with less cute women (checks which thread we are in) in it would have given more sleep
