I use smart traffic film remover mixed 1-10 with warm water in an old ice cream tub. Steep for 5-10 mins while I remove the cassette then attack both with an old toothbrush.

As a general bike cleaner, the pink stuff sucks.
I'll take your word for the degreaser capability but I wouldn't spend more money to check.

The degreaser is very VERY good. I've been using it on motorbike's for years, and of the many many brands I've tried, it's the only one that truly does work. You can get the aerosol can with a chain cleaner attachment, Spend the extra 5 quid and get that. Run it through, then wipe off with handfuls of kitchen towl, re-lube and you're good to go.
