Moving back from drops to hoods

I don't use the drops often (i.e. never really) but now I have smaller bars and can reach them, I am experimenting when there's no traffic around  However, when I move back from the drops to the hoods or tops, I tend to wobble rather!

Is this typical for a newbie drops user and any tips to avoid this happening as I'd prefer not to wobble especially if moving at (relative) speed!

Are you moving both hands at once? If you move one at a time, I don't see why you should wobble - one at a time is little different to cycling one-handed while you signal.

One at a time I think, perhaps it's because I somehow reposition my bulk maybe? I can't ride no handed so I expect I'd fall off if moving both!

Erm, I am very cautious and probably moving more slowly, but I think still some instability!
How are you doing it at the moment?
I've only tried a couple of times, and I haven't exactly analysed my technique, or lack of!

I was exactly the same i used to get a "speed wobble" when swapping it is just practice like your doing it then just becomes a non issue after a while as said the more you concentrate on it the more you worry. Chill out dont grab for the hoods or grip them like your life depends on it and you will be all good.

Do it more and it will become natural like any moment on your bike, I'm sure there was a time when pedaling made you feel uneasy and make you wobble.
After doing more transitions you will find it becoming smoother and you'll worry less

Cheers all
Will also need to get used to braking from the drops as currently I use crosslevers on the commuter bike, so have to move from the drops
