Motorcyclists overtaking in double white line area

The pass "felt" a bit close.
Key phrase.

On the rare occasions I'm riding a motorbike, I expect to choose a line for myself through bends and double-whites that ensures my safety and increases my visibility.

Personally, I would expect of myself to accord a "f****** pedaller" (quote from a biker whose riding skills did not match mine ) exactly the same choice and space. And overtake, or not, accordingly.

Iirc you can also pass vehicles travelling at under 12mph by crossing the solid white line (only your side matters, irrelevant if it's double or not) if it's safe to do so.

I got a 75 quid fine 3 points for over taking a caravan on a steep hill .i was on a 170mph motorbike..
chief petty officer was concerned at the whole 1.5 seconds i needed to pass said road block..

as for cycles ,i used to give them as much room as possible..still do and always do..

We all seem to assume this was uphill, now if I was going up a hill with double white lines then I for one wouldn't be 'owning the lane'. OK I would have a couple of foot of 'dive into' space. However if I was descending (assuming I'm back on a decent road bike) there wouldn't be a car/motorbike that'd need to pass me. (Gawd I miss being able to ride my nice bikes)

Personally I aint fussed, if the overtaking vehicle gives me enough space and doesn't cause anybody else grief I'm not bothered whether the driver/rider crossed double white lines or not.

Was not uphill, and I was doing (according to my Garmin trace) roughly 30km/h / 18.5 mph.
I don't think it was a Harley, they are the very shiny motorbikes, aren't they?

That's why my first suggestion was a Goldwing.
