Is it more economical than a 3kw fan heater do you think?

For our energy rates, a 3kw electric heater would cost 73p/hour. But many are advertised at 3kw but actually put out more like 2.5kw.
A rough look suggests a small Diesel heater uses about 175ml/hour. Assuming both heaters are on constantly for the hour, the Diesel works out about 28p/hour

Radiator heat reflecting foil, a roll for a tenner.
It does make a difference.

I'd need a lot of convincing that a reflective foil is going to make much difference. Whilst radiators are called radiators they really heat by convection after directly transferring heat to the air in contact. There's negligible radiated heat to reflect

Feels like they work for us and that's all that matters.

A laser distance measuring gubbins. After seeing the guy who came to measure up the kitchen using one. Picked up a cheapie from Screwfix, accurate to +/- 2mm. Now I know all my room sizes and have measured the loft space and rafter spacing so I have a more accurate idea of the amount of insulation I need.

I've not got one of those, but a few years back i did buy a digital calliper for £7.99 from Aldi. At the time i was wondering why i was buying it, thinking it'd not get much use. How wrong i was! Turns out it's one of my most used gadgets and frankly i can't imagine life without it.
