There’s enough people who believe in the nonsense that it alters their behaviour. And due to the sheer number their actions will affect those around them.
Astrology is, of course, utter nonsense. But it affects those that believe and as a consequence, those that don’t.

I can say that in the local area this is totally true
I am the only person ever seen in this bit of the road who cycles
and I am Pisces
Hence all cyclists in this area are Pisces.

As an aside - a friend of my Mum's was very into fortune telling

When she was in her 20s she went to a fortune teller who told her that the true love of her life would be tall and dark

Turned out that all her long term relationships were with tall dark men!!!
so there you are !!


of course, the fact that, after seeing the fortune teller, she would never go out with a bloke who was tall and dark - because there was clearly no future in it - may be relevant!
