Most bike 'innovations' are not that good, so what's the downside of this?

Unless you can see an obvious hole or the nail/screw/sliver is still there (and you normally can't, as any fule no), you will not be able to tell where the p****ture is. So where are you going to stuff the tool (answers on a polite postcard please).

Nah. I'll stick to the traditional ballsache of tyre off, check it out, change tube, re-fit tyre, inflate and wait for the next one.

I'd like to know how you get that thing inside the inner tube to insert whatever it contains. The tube will just push onto the rim.

I could see it possibly working on a tubeless tyre, but that's all.
One of the other videos shows you pinch the tyre, so the tube is away from the tyre. The magic gunk/patch stuff sticks first to the inside of the tyre, then to the outside of the tube, a bit like a traditional patch.

Well, actually the tool is re-usable, you just need another patch pod. Strangely they say you should bring 3 patch pods on a ride, yet the pre-order thing only contains 2, and there is no indication of how to get more, or how much they will cost.
Ah. I sit corrected. My point about pre-ordered still stands though.
