how can Wales do it but not England??

Hi subaqua Walkers and cyclists tend to spend more locally because they don't want to carry things on them: that's me. Sounds OK but 6 years ago they started a trail from Chester to Prestatyn; but only one small bit is now complete; So, you may after to keep the heat on.

Do you know what the contours lines are like, will it be good for a tour bike. cheers Zoof

I have fond memories of Barmouth. A mate and I stopped there during a Hollyhead to Cardiff charity ride for a swim.

If it was a hot day around 2008 and you came down the ginnel at the far end;

put the bikes against the wooden breakwater; then plunged straight in.

I had done the same the day before, but you still made me jealous. Zoof

It was mid 2009. We took the bikes right down onto the beach and locked them up. Swam in cycling gear. By the time we reached a pub a mile or so down the road we were bone dry as it was so very hot.

Yes water baby's; good to get rid of the dust.

The Camp-site on the front was very dear; it was £18.00 p/p/night!

Wales has some terrible Sustrans routes just like England
ie
http://road.cc/content/news/28228-r...nt-cycle-path-redesigned-so-they-can-cycle-it

If this new route is like the Bristol-Bath then hip hurrah but the "track" (see what I did there: that's a pun that is) record for Sustrans paths contains many good intentions that end in bits of bog reached by narrow paths by canals shared with dog walkers.

Sustrans' idea of "special" routes for cyclists is not a practical solution. If cyclists could just use the road then they wouldn't have to build paths.

I agree Sustrans design route to keep cyclists away from cars as mucg as possible. I reality this often means that going from A to B takes in the rest of the alphabet as well!

Totally agree with your sentiments on that.

Conwy Council has increased the frequency with which sand is cleared from a section of the route at West Shore in Llandudno

from once a quarter to once a month at an annual cost of £6,000.

But it's one of the most scenic routes, in Wales; I must do before you die; even if you have to take a shovel.

And now It's a lot safer with £22,000,000 just spent. so no excuses; and now no need of a guide Zoof
