It was cold in Glasgow this morning, 2 or 3°C I think, and although just a light wind (hurrah), it was a bit icy! Wore my Ronhill tracksters for the first time, base layer, s/s top and a light windproof jacket. My fingers were cold and my toes were feeling a bit numb after my 15 miles. Don't think the temperature reached double figures at all today despite the sun, and it's to be like that again tomorrow. Milder when the rain comes during the week though...

I read somewhere recently that ''they'' are forecasting the worse winter for a 100 years or so. :cold:

Well I got up this morning and everything was white with frost.

I put on my Lidl bib-tights for the first time, a base layer, long jersey, a skullcap, gloves and overshoes. I did over 50 miles and the temperature hovered around zero for much of it. I felt comfortable enough for most of the ride, but by the time I got back home the temperature was up to about 7 and I was too warm. Layering up is going to be very temperature sensitive, a relatively small change may need some adjustment.

Wonderfully mild here: did a 44 mile ride in bib shorts, l/s jersey and a gilet and t'was so nice that we sat outside to eat our Sunday roast, thereby earning lots of approving and admiring comments from the other pub-goers.

Are you in Newcastle by any chance? Because if so, your tolerance to cold is much better than the rest of us!

Perfect weather again today. It is so easy to maintain the correct body temperature with sun and cold. There was still lots of frost in shaded fields at 3pm.

Out to day for a jolly 40 miler, was off upto Horley to meet some pals, Sunny, bright & warm on the coast, but the forecast further inland was for grey, cold & drizzley.
I wore my new long bibs, sealskinz socks, base layer, club jersey, waterproof jacket, buff & full gloves - 5 miles in, jacket off, buff off, gloves swapped for mitts. Sweated like a p i g, all the way round.
Glad had my Sealskin socks though as me toes did get a tad numb towards the end

...which probably means that it'll be bermuda shorts and vest tops all winter.

I think "they" do it just to keep us on our toes.

Very mild down here in Kent, although the wind and rain had me feeling a little chilled today (and I chose a bad day for a hilly route as the descents weren't much fun on wet roads covered in leaves and muck from the farm vehicles).

Nasty north-westerly in London today got my feet cold. And the heating's just come on for only the 3rd time this side of summer. I now believe Christmas may be as little as 7 weeks away. Sincerely hope I'm wrong about that though.
