Such sad news. A lovely man. Absolute genius too and very chatty. My Dad knew him and he lived down the road and a round the corner (or two). Over the last couple of years, since moving back to Norwich, I saw him regularly on the DNR cycleway. He always waved.
His recumbents, back in my late teens/early 20s used to freak out my horses. He always spoke when approaching from behind, the horses were slightly less freaked. He swore that they would get used to the ‘bents, they never did. I had one of his frames, early/mid 90s - as I said, my Dad knew him as Dad had a bike shop, hence the frame. Jolly nice it was too.
I wish him smooth roads and a following breeze, wherever he may be.
