I would for the simple reason that it works.
(speaking as a 10,000 mile a year all weather cyclist)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - the Mickle method changed my life. If I don't get a chance to do a proper clean of the commuter bike at the weekend, a quick Mickle and some air in the tyres makes Monday mornings bearable (almost).

I try to neither clean nor lube a new chain until it reaches the first 1000 miles or the first squeak, although this is not always possible through the Winter.

After that the Mickle method's a logical way to clean & lube until chain replacement. I average 3000+ miles per chain (SRAM).

I can't be arsed, I just get a new bike when the chain is a little grubby
I think that's what Ianrukdoes rather than clean. new bike evry time

I would recommend it for almost all uses.

When I rode cyclocross (mud/ sand /straw/ leaves on chain) I'd use lots of hot soapy water and a spray/ sponge to get grit out of the chain, dry with WD40 then re-lube. Mickle method for everything else (saves time and is plenty good-enough)
