Me. Love the stuff. However, in my opinion, it doesn't really work other than as a base layer on the bike. Not unless it has some form of wind proof coating, like what them guys at Ground Effect do.
+1 for ground effect - I've have a couple of their tops which are excellent. Used to be very cheap because of the £-NZ dollar exchange rate, but I suspect that's changing.

Is there annoying Customs/Royal Mail handling charge?
IIRC they now package stuff in such a way that these annoying charges (and I only got stung once) are now a thing of the past. There's a bit on their website about it.

I suspect the word 'gift' may be used.

Go for ground effect.
(Another happy customer.)

BTW, I notice ProBikeKit were selling some more of their s/s Descente merino jerseys for about £30! I bought one this summer - lovely delicate thing, but thing but it's contructed from separately knitted panels and the panels are cut so meanly there's just not enough material there tosewe together! Seams come apart almost right away.

I have a merino hat, a sort of thin beanie, and it is infuriatingly itchy on the scalp. Mind you I do have most (well, almost all really) of it exposed to the wooliness.
That apart, I am a big fan and for walking/climbing base layers as well.
There's a woolly thick grey mitten that climbers used to use a lot called Dachsteins way back in the dark ages and I see the Everest guys back in the 1920s also used to use thin wool layers so there is indeed nothing new under the sun after all.

Me too. At that price with free delivery, I simply couldn't resist! Mine's holding together ok but I know what you mean about it seeming a bit fragile. Fingers crossed that it stays in one piece!
