I have a pair of jelly shoes which I use for cycling and one of the straps came off. Any thoughts on what glue to use to put it back on? It just parted company with the main part of the shoe, the strap is not broken.

Any advice much appreciated as I miss them - they have great grip.

I use this for slits in tyres. It takes about 24 hours to cure - but is a great product. Divers use it on their wetsuits and I think it will cope with Jelly shoes too.

BTW I realised that I had to crowdsource this answer as the person in my family who always knew what glue to use (and suchlike things) was my Dad, who sadly now isn't sure where he is or who I am, never mind what the current adhesive technology is. Mr G is just not a DIY kinda guy, in spite of his other excellent qualities. So thanks again.

It's a big gap. Realising there was no longer a lawyer in my family after my mum's stroke, multiplies the grief.

Buy new farking shoes you tightwad.

Sorry that came out wrong. I've had a couple of pints on an empty stomach and I'm not used to drinking. What I should have said was:

Buy new shoes you farking tightwad.

What are jelly shoes?
Gonna Google ... omg, haven't seen them for years, we used to wear them on the beach as kids, a long long time ago
Look at Vivienne Westwood's and Melissa's Pat - the Melissa range is amazingly practical and just beautiful. Particularly good in summer when walking on grass!

Nay, I don't like to show my feet - too cold for it here anyway, and wet, even in "summer". When I said I wore them on the beach that was in Italy ^_^
