Which means machined from a lump of aluminium cut from a bar. Nothing special about that at all.

Another is “CNC machined”

Is there any other sort of machining these days?

There is a fair bit of stuff on ebay that makes both claims, yet is neither, it is actually just a casting that has not been machined at all, normally just polished!
