Lions gums of all types are great if not a bit of a jawbreaker.still made Cleckheaton West Yorks ,Maynards are probably outsourcing which would explain the lack of taste .

Yes, you can still get the liquorice midget gems in certain small sweet shops (one in Sedbergh springs to mind) but I can't get them at motorway services at 3am any more. Which I find unreasonably distressing.

Wine gums were always tasteless gastrimonically and culturally and always will be

Shop at the end of my street sells sweets properly, weighed out in quarters in paper bags from big jars. Wine gums you have the option of hard or soft and even sells proper midget gems with the sour tasting black ones.
