Lions gums of all types are great if not a bit of a jawbreaker.still made Cleckheaton West Yorks ,Maynards are probably outsourcing which would explain the lack of taste .

Yes, you can still get the liquorice midget gems in certain small sweet shops (one in Sedbergh springs to mind) but I can't get them at motorway services at 3am any more. Which I find unreasonably distressing.:evil:

Bloody wine gum outsourcing. It's a travesty. We need more locally produced wine gums. Soon every time we try to talk to a wine gum it'll have a foreign accent. [insert more strange mutterings and walk out looking shifty].

I remember back in the old days one could get a '53 Sancerre or a '48 Nuits St.George in a packet of gums. Standards have dropped, you know:biggrin:

Shop at the end of my street sells sweets properly, weighed out in quarters in paper bags from big jars. Wine gums you have the option of hard or soft and even sells proper midget gems with the sour tasting black ones.
