Truck wash in a steam cleaner will strip all but the best paint,use with care.

Nice one for the info ive never seen grease like this its literally welded to every bit of the chain set and the rear derailleur is beyond cleanable by hand.

Either oven cleaner or throw it in a bowl of white spirit or parafin overnight.

Some oven cleaners are based on sodium hydroxide. That stuff does horrible things to aluminium. I wouldn't spray it on my bike.

Thanks. Bike is stripped to the bones atm though its just drive train stuff that's going to be getting the deep cleaning.

Soaked in washing up liquid prior to tooth brush abuse. Not so good for chains or certain other steel or interlocking parts perhaps!

We are in the proces of getting one at work as well. Not sure how happy my boss will be when i turn up with a load of bike bits

The cleaners are milder than weak washing up liquid,I think it is the vibration that does it.Also very good for freeing up seized components

May well still have to take you up your offer if that's the case front mech isn't playing ball to date. Looks shiny just doesn't shift lol.
