How you getting on with it so far?

Only managed 100 miles, but first impressions good. First up, it's without doubt the best looking bike I've ever had - the paintjob is superb. Fits well - I was between sizes, so went for the larger size as I'll likely do quite a bit of riding on the road.

THe big tyres (35mm) make it a bit hard work on the road, but I'll get another set of wheels for 28mm tyres which should sort that out. Have ridden a few trails and then it really seems to come into its own. Feels nice and stable and seems to easy to maintain speed.

Stable?! It appears to have fallen over!

Lush bike.

All Mason frames and forks take photographic nomenclature eg Definition (mine's on order), Resolution, Bokeh, Aperture and Parallax forks (I like those) and the forthcoming titanium Aspect.

That's pretty cool. Any idea why? I assume the folks who started it up are photographers?

I was similarly ignorant. Wasn't gonna fess up until you did!

Sometimes you lose faith in people.

My guess is it's clever marketing to attract the sort of more-money-than-sense, middle-aged non-racers who like to geek out on tech and like to blow their cash on expensive camera equipment and think they're pro photographers because they've read a couple of articles about defocus and the like.

Marketing is everything. It's no coincidence that most dads prefer to buy Maclaren prams.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (I think it looks dull personally) but if you want to spend £2k on something whose main selling point is it looks nice to you, more power to you.

Wow. Negativity central.

I like it, nice bike.

It's probably just me but the wheel rims make me want to scream...

HUUUNT!

Okay that's fine, you like it, I don't, and I have a theory (could be completely wrong) on why they choose photography-related names for their models.

Not especially negative, really.

Maybe they should bring out a model called the Mason Negative.
