It is well documented that people either love Marmite or they hate it, I am in the former camp'
I was in England over Christmas and I bought a jar (I can't get it here) when it came time to leave I realised after locking my suitcase and piling it into the car that my Marmite was in a kitchen cupboard I rushed back and put it in my carry on. At the airport (Heathrow) I was pulled aside to explain something in my bag - the Marmite that was confiscated. I am aware of the rules but I had forgotten about the Marmite but I was just wondering how much harm I could do? If I forced it on fellow plane passengers who hate it would I qualify as a terrorist?

At least it seems to be going to a good cause :okay:

"But fear not, love it or hate it, the jars of Marmite and other food stuffs aren’t going to waste. The airport is donating it to charity, and this year alone over 3,000 items have been collected and taken to a local food bank."

But if the reason they are confiscating it is because it might contain explosives, how can they give it away? Is it in some quantum state of being simultaneously safe and unsafe?

That's not the reason - it's because the containers are too big (liquids more than 100ml are not allowed)

Just eating a hot crumpet with lashings of melted butter and marmite. Yummmm!! :hungry::hungry::hungry: :mrpig:
Just before Christmas I was introduced to Crumpets, butter, Marmite and *cheese*. I must say it was rather nice and very moreish.

OP - a jar of marmite could be used to hide an explosive, it's the perfect colour and consistency!
