Where's that?

Bradford is an architectural and culinary gem. Colne is an irredeemable heap.

That makes me laugh. Where did you get the impression I was making a claim of superiority for Colne? I wasn't; I was just making the point that I had reason to drive through Bradford yesterday afternoon and I found it to be a total dump. As for Colne, just when exactly was the last time you were there?

Colne? About a month ago. I suspect that your policy of making no claims of superiority for it is the correct one. It's good that you can laugh though, as a sense of humour must help.

Admittedly it's a few years since I was last in Bradford, but I very much doubt that the things I like about it have changed.

And what. pray tell, brought you from the elysian fields of Bristol all the way to the north and Colne? It wasn't a chippy, was it?

The promise of welcoming locals, fine food and civic pride.

Was it a lady?

I found his book ' thank you for the days' a funny, warming read.
Especially the 'White Sauce' at School chapter
The 'Day I Met Kate Bush' is good too, but he's right, it is expected that she'd have a garden like Narnia

I'm from Bradford, - it's twinned with Mordor.
It'lll have smoked that much back in the Inustrial Revolution, up to the 1950s
