Perfectly executed mugging of Sagan by Terpstra and Chavanel to set it up for him too.
I'm sure Cav knows by know you can't win 'em all, but you can bet his whole team will ride piano on the Alpe d'Huez so they are ready for the Champs Elysees.
Being a little guy (compared with the Greipel & Kittel) Cav hmsel will get over the lumps withing time limit without taking too much out of himself, I'd say better than evens for the grand finale.

I quite like the situation.

I don't think Cav has been completely on his game, perhaps he's still recovering from his illness, perhaps the Veelers incident or the wee incident has thrown him slightly, perhaps he's been derailed by an inconsistent lead-out in front of him and the form of Lotto and Argos.

However, we all know Cav is a racer in the truest form. The emergence of Kittel can only really spur him on. Form is temporary, class is permanent and all that. Whether its in Paris in a week or we have to wait just a little bit longer, Cav will come back and when he does I think we're going to be in for some amazing finishes.

Quite surprised at some of the comments on this thread.

He was ill prior to the race and is just getting back to full fitness. Don't think for one minute he is "past" it. Kittels team have trained for nothing else other than lead outs and delivering Kittel to the best position. Cav is in a newish team and will take time for them to learn how to get him to the positions he's been used to. Cav has also had a bit of bad luck in some stages and will never right him off.

Looks to have lost weight. He was a bit chunky for a TdF rider, now he looks more the all-rounder.

I see from member profiles that this is the first venture into Racing by the OP, let's hope that it's the last if that's the extent of his knowledge...bet he wears Rapha

Still the fastest out there, it's the intermediate sprint points that kill him for Green.
