Foz you sir are mental :-)

I've got a few months to try and start eating *something * healthy
Would have ridden fixed last year if the weather wasn't good - had both bikes at the ready !!

Have you tried fruit cake yet, or indeed Soreen - both great for carbs.

Do The Manchester 100 every year.

If you were to come & do a couple of "Hebden Bridge" training rides with Colin - then you could do the M100 with just one leg!!!

As someone has also commented, the Manchester - Blackpool is a good build up for the M100, but coming up soon is my favourite ride of the year - Manchester - Chester. I just love this route & then a gentle ride back to the start at Wythenshawe.

Listen to what Colin says about food, drink & pacing yourself.
I can stomach gels & are constantly swallowing them - some people can't.

Remember - we go out to enjoy our cycling, so just pace yourself.

I did the 100 mile a couple of years ago. First time. Was quite anxious & nervous beforehand but was surprised as to how comfortable the ride went.
Took me 6 1/2 hours ish with the enforced stop at 55 miles in. It was tough, and at the time the most challenging ride i've done.
Being used to the flat of the Fylde Coast the 3-4 short sharp climbs were a tough challenging! Especially the one about 5 miles from the end & a little bugger about 20 miles in on a bumpy lane.

Seem to remember on the day there was a sinister wind for the first half of the ride, which was in your face whichever direction I was riding. Though after the enforced stop that wind was most helpful keeping a good speed up.

I rode the 100 on my own and did find at points (particularly after the 100km split off) that you don't come across other riders for quite long spells.

Best preparation is to spend time in the saddle & listen to Colin's advice, & make sure your bike is good running order!

But most of all, enjoy it
