I'm back!!!!!!!! Riding time was about 5hrs 20m or just under depending on whose computer you looked at and also various Ave speeds clocked from 18.8-19.0mph so definitely a very quick run.

I must admit I am dead beat now and was actually about to quietly get dropped from the back of the pack about 15 miles from the end but a stop at a road junction allowed me to tag back onto the group and I managed to find a bit morer oomph from somewhere and stick with the group to the end.
Glad I did it and enjoyed pushing the limits of my endurance, not saying I want every ride to be like that though.

Top company and a top ride, cheers fellas.
Nice one skol, think my decision was a good one looking at that pace

Hope next weekends ride will be much more leisurely

Hi Chaps
Thanks for letting me tag along. It was fun being in the "Peloton", but I slipped back a bit too much going up a hill and dropped off the back. My time was 6hrs 2 mins, with 2 stops. Nantwich and a pub about 75 milesish. Total time inc stops 7 hours 50. I saw Fossy coming through the chicane in Heald Green, but I don't think he heard my shout. My speed stats have to be taken with a pinch of salt though, as I think someone else has the same computer as me - so my max speed was 68mph! Ave 16.7, which I'm happy with as it was mostly solo. Thanks for lending me the lock, would be nice to meet you all properly on the next social ride when we're not so sleep deprived and wet.

Don't worry. We all agreed to flag your ride on Strava when we stopped at the next lights ;) We might let you off though after you fell over in the park

Really enjoyed the ride. Fellow wheeler apologised on our forum for going off a 'bit' quick at the start  Was certainly a good warmup

My Jersey is covered in the tell-tale signs of nipping onto Fossy's wheel a few times during our little breakaway over the rolling hills

Really great to meet some new faces. Cracking company! Hope you all got home to something tasty, Rice pudding + cake for me. Epic win!

Got back quite a bit ago! Thanks a lot for organising it and getting everyone together Fossy and thanks to all who came, nice to meet you, enjoyed the company!

Quite pleased with a ~19mph average on my 1st 100 miler!

Including my journey to and from the start, I covered about 113 mile all told!

The first 30 miles or so didn't quite turn out joined up, combination of traffic (bikes) and a few of us thought the other Man Wheelers lad was staying with us, but he wasn't - we realised too late. Re-grouped, DCLane then stopped to pop out his 'instant' mudguard, then caught me and edwards80 up again a few miles later to let us know the others weren't far behind, and we eventually re-joined. There were thousands of riders.

The roads were damp until we hit the tiny back lanes from Northwich, Delamere and onto Northwich. Combination of grit, cow slurry and mud - this is typical Cheshire lanes. Absolutely filthy - my top has just had two washes with stain remover, and it's not all out.

Downside of the damp conditions were a few offs, at least 3 needing an ambulance. Most were on corners, hit oil or debris and were off. One poor sole was at the side of the road with carbon forks in half - both blades snapped off. Tonnes of punctures.

Cafe was great, and the staff ended up with a big tip. Ride settled in then at a good pace and we stopped at the Tesco next to the pub at 75 miles for a quick refuel.

Schneil, we just heard you shout - stupid BMW driver was on wrong side of road just before.

Surely a mistake here! I don't have any friends

The other lad with the Manchester wheelers top was the main one responsible for all the confusion at the beginning as he set off like a scalded cat and quite a few went with him. Despite being asked to slow back down to about 20 as the group was in tatters (by me) he ignored this and went off again, again splitting the group even more. The real annoying thing :cursing: is that he was only doing the 60 mile route and nobody really new this so he split all the CC riders up then cleared off to enjoy his quick 60 miler!!! TOOL!
