Doesn't look like a £4000 bike to me, but what do I know?

If I had a bike worth that much I'd be very scared about leaving it locked up outside.

It is a shame that the thief will only get a 'slap on the wrist' for this crime whilst it has knackered the 'victims' living up.

One of these days the courts may take cycle theft seriously but I'm not holding my breath.

I like the first comment. Give him 12 months with a further nine years if he doesn't reveal who he sold the bikes to.

How long did that take him to do? 20 seconds in and neither bike appeared locked.

I agree that he should be jailed for as long as possible (+1 for the 12 mth & 9 years idea ) but it's a good reason to lock bikes up.

Well, he's breached a suspended sentence for causing bodily harm, so I suppose he's prepared for his return to the court on that charge as well as the bicycle theft.
Do sentences in Britain still include a few strokes of the birch?
