Questions with regards to the signs on the buses. Where are they & what was the cost to the company. Tried to get First to the same down here but they said it was too expensive.

Given what you said has happenned elsewhere, the comments on here will be like water of a ducks back for you. Never had you figured as a "vigilante" though.

They placed the stickers in the drivers cab (not sure where exactly). Did you tell them about the successful campaign in Glasgow?

my first thought on seeing that: 'but he hasn't got his helmet cam on.' then 'oh, it's there!'
it's very small i must say. not like that other big bugger that went on top of the helmet!

does it plug into some other electronic gubbins then, and where do you keep that? is it not a bit of a faff of untangling wires and getting set up and plugging it in and remembering to press record before putting gloves on etc etc? think i'd struggle with the amount of preparation...

bet it set you back a bit did it not if you don't mind me asking?

My copy arrived on Saturday - thought you came over very well, Magnatom. The summary of different camera options was good too, I thought.

Yes it needs gubbins! I keep the recorder (an archos 405 with travel adapter), and the battery in my rucksack. There are cables etc (microphone cable as well), but it all sits inside my rucksack, so no real issues. I did have to make a small internal hole in my rucksack to get all the cables etc in the right place, but it works well now. It probably takes me about two minutes each time to get it in place and working. A bit of a faff, but not much once you are used to it. It is worth it for the good quality video.

The camera was about £180 (probably cheaper now), the battery (I got an upgrade) was about £25, the recorder (off ebay) was about £35, and I think I needed an extra cable at about £8. Normally you would also need to buy a travel adapter for the Archos (about £30 at a guess), but I had one from a previous Archos helmet camera set up.

So for me it cost about £248. Not cheap, but not extortionate either!

Many thanks! The photo of me was bigger than I thought it would be!

So if any newspaper editors are reading, I'm now available to write a weekly column on my helmet camera adventures. Of course the money would have to be good as I will now be looking for a third bike....:smile:
