Be careful: the Magicshine does not have any protection against overheating - the LED will bake if you leave it on high without adequate airflow to cool it. I'd run it on low only if you want to drain the battery. In fact, it's a good idea to try and prevent any LED light from getting too hot, as heat can significantly reduce the life expectancy of the emitter.

My mj 808 switches to low if it overheats and goes back to full power when it has cooled sufficiently. Is yours the model with the upgraded battery pack and electronics?
