Madone -a sportive bike?

I want a sportive bike and had been drawing up a list of the usual suspects (Roubaix/Synapse/Giant) to test ride when i read the C+ bike of the year article.
The Trek 4.5 caught my eye and i'd previously thought of Madones as out and out race bikes and never considered it for comfort.

Does anyone own a 4.5 and is the geometry Treks 'performance' spec or is it 'pro'?

My mate has one and I have borrowed it occasionally. It's a lovely bike and comfortable, so why not.

I have a 5.2 perf - a great combination of speed/weight/comfort. If the 4.5 is similar to this, then yes, its definitely worth considering.

p.s. I think the 4.5 only comes in performance fit

I have recently bought a Madone 5.2 Triple (previously rode an aluminium Trek 1.4 double) with the intention of riding it in 'The Dragon Ride' in June. The bike has a more relaxed position specifically for longer rides. It is much more comfortable than my previous Trek and the carbon frame seems to provide more cushioning on some of the dodgy road surfaces we have locally. I would thoroughly recommend this bike including the 'triple' chainset that has made climbing a much more pleasurable experience.
