If you use the sticky stuff from the manufactures you'll probably wear your chain out quicker as it will allow all manner of grit and crap to stick to your chain and form an abrasive paste. I'll just continue to use GT85, you just have to do it more often.

Many people wouldn't advise it as they seem to like heavier lubes but I use it.

My chain always looks nice and clean and runs smoothly. I just do it more often than I would have if I used a heavier lube. Perhaps if I was riding in bad conditions every day I may use a heavier dry lube.

I use a light car gear oil, and mickle after every ride (or weekly on the commuter). It's cheaper than a night out with a slapper, and my drive components last as long as they ever did on expensive bike-specific ungents, and I've tried them all.

So using the GT85 is advisable all year round

No no and more no. GT85 is a light lube cleaner. Not for chains. If its wet you need to relube each day or two. Simple.

Finish line dry or dry pro ceramic. Just a drop on each roller. Spray oils are a waste of cash as you lose so much oil.

Just buy a dropper.

I need say no more.

Finish Line Green (cross country), designed for wet mtb action, tends to survive wet radie days pretty well.

I know it's heresy, but I don't think it really matters as long as you lube fairly frequently and get the crud off the chain regularly. Some swear by WD40, others say that eternal mechanical damnation follows shortly after even a sniff of the stuff. I use this, putting a drop on each roller with a syringe, year round.

Aerosols just put 95% of whatever product you choose nowhere near the chain. It really doesn't matter actually.
