Area not far away was renamed 'Preston South' when a Tescos was built there. The stretch of road is around 200m before it becomes 'Hedon'.
Preston itself must be a good mile in the other direction. A case of the good residents of Hedon wanting the supermarket close by, but not actually in their village.

Back on my old stamping ground, The 'Kensington' Hilton is a good two miles from Kensington, no more than a third of a mile from Shepherds Bush Green.

Travelled up to north Wales from Sutton Coldfield. Few days later met someone who mentioned they had just driven up from Solihull. In all innocence, I asked, "What's the weather like in Brum?" She replied, "I don't know, we're from Solihull"

Damn right too.... I never describe myself as coming from Birmingham. It's like someone from Watford saying they're a Londoner - all wrong
