And not for the better, IME. The world is certainly getting more complex by the day - and the pace of it seems to be accelerating.

Maybe this is why people hanker for 'how things used to be','a simpler time' and so on?

But I do catch myself thinking like an old man sometimes or, more specifically, making judgements on the follies of the youth of today. I have to laugh at myself. I don't think I'm getting old but it's so obviously happening that I'm in denial! I feel I'm staying still and the world is changing around me!

that really is the fun bit. I don't know if we're the same age, but I'm of the generation (born 1954) that believes it will live, love, and dance for ever - it's just that the music these days is completely unintelligible! I've become my own one man comedy act - catching myself out is hilarious, and playing up to the caricature even more so. 'You're not going out dressed like that!' is probably the favourite, but watching rlj'ers sail by, shaking my head, muttering 'youth of today' and then chasing them down when the lights change is a sort of Victor Meldrew meets Mel Gibson thing (the haircut is Meldrew rather than Gibson, which is doubtless a relief to my friends and relatives) that is so foolish it's comic.

I think i need to edit the title of this thread to the grumpy old men thread.

:blush::biggrin::biggrin:

Im only 37 but im starting to think like an old git every day.

I go out to the pubs and im not thinking, cor look what she's got on, im thinking ...bloody hell she must be freezing the silly cow.

In my handbag I've just got a list of what I've got so I know what I've got. I wouldn't know without the list, and I would lose track of everything, including who I am. As they say 'you can't use a map if you don't know where you are'

In my handbag ( a very small one, more like a large pocket really) I have house and c*r keys, mobile phone, purse and a handkerchief. If I wear a jacket with pockets, all that goes in the pockets. (Well not the Handbag, but you know what I mean).
