Any suggestions?

I've had bulldog for the last 2 years, but since they've been taken over by tiscali my service is out for about 20 percent of time.

In the industry, tiscali's name is *dirt*, and I feel extremely sorry for businesses who have to put up with this ridiculous russian roulette of service.

I'm very happy with BT, not the cheapest but certainly where I am excellent service though I know others will have the opposite view.

You got a budget in mind Abbers?

I'm currently paying 30 quid for phone line plus broadband, but tiscali who have taken over bulldog are now offering it for 9 quid.

I'd carry on paying the same happily.

The intent of this thread is to put people off using tiscali because of:

-unacceptable service outages
-patronising and useless off-shored support
-the phone message on the support line is still the christmas one

I ultimately want to hurt them in the same way as they have hurt me.

I must admit to being put off the all in one package stuff as it is all shite. Good when it works, absolutely dismal when it doesn't. Tiscali, Orange, Virgin etc.. too risky so I pay for phone line from BT and an independent ISP. I use Zen and the two in combination are very good. I wouldn't recommend BT as an ISP provider, overly complex support structure means getting swapped from pillar to post for problem resolution. The only touble with that is, it isn't cheap. Probably similiar to what you pay now but I have never, ever, had a problem and customer service is exemplary. I chose reliability over cost and am waiting for someone to offer the same for less but so far ........................

Thanks willow. I've decided to go with your option because the un / bundling of the services is probably the problem.

It's also nice to see a lady and her intelligence tearing apart the testosterone charged uber-geeks who have responded to this thread thus far.

I'm on Orange, but only because I'm on a special deal tied to my phone which means I get unlimited broadband for peanuts. Otherwise, I'd recommend Be.
