The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
I agree with the OP. Too much money for a couple of pieces of plastic, but I like the pedals and have to put up with paying through the nose (4 bikes with Keos). £9.95 at wiggle at he moment - doubt whether you'll find cheaper, even the copies aren't a lot less. BTW these are something I've never see discounted in a LBS, always rrp - £19.99 is ludicrous - almost worth buying new pedals, with cleats in the box - rather like inkjet printers!

Didn't a company sell aluminium Look (& perhaps KEO) cleats a few years ago

They'd solve the wear issue

I don't mind paying for Look cleats, but also look for KeO compatible cleats from Exustar and BBB, Exustar make a cleat with extra padding for walking grip, don't know if they last much longer however, they will be cheaper than original Look cleats.

Look make the padded cleats too, and you can get them cheaper than Exustar ones on Wiggle.

If you find you are routinely walking any distance at all in Look cleats - then you have chosen the wrong shoe/pedal/cleat combo.
