I need some new cleats...

I am tight.

I am a bit upset at having to pay £10+ for bits of plastic that seem to be made of cheese.

Does anyone have any cheap outlets for decent copies or even OEM £5 seems reasonable.

The pedals themselves are a bit clicky so i may consider replacing them, any recommendations?

They are what they are - just pay the price.

No... I dont mid paying a fair price for stuff, I am happy for everyone to make a living and pay my due tax. But these cleats cost pennies to make... They are advertised everything from £10-£18 on the usual sites.
Being plastic they wear quite quickly on the commute.

I was given the pedals as a freebie and am now thinking i might change them for something I can put metal cleats into -which are ironically cheaper and longer lasting..

I am finding Shimano SPD SL CLEATS last alot longer than the Look KEO cleats (Different pedal systems entirely).

I was forced to use the Shimano system as a result of not being able to remove the pedals. I'm actually quite grateful now.

@Citius is right. They are what they are.
If you want longer lasting try SPD cleats. Made of metal and longer lasting. But you will need new shoes and pedals. So a bit of an investment first off.

They only wear from walking on parts that don't contact the pedal.

I usually find that the top lip wears really thin( approx 2mm) and breaks off - then it's time for a new pair.

Make sure that the rubber thing in the middle doesn't get worn.

I use the carbon Keo's which are very light and last well.

I use the Lifeline Look Keo compatible cleats from Wiggle http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-road-pedal-cleats-look-keo-compatible/

In the Q&A it says something about not being recommended for use with carbon soled Sidi shoes. However i've been using them for the last 18 months with a pair and have no issues whatsoever.

The lifeline cleats are cheaper and last much much longer than the Look cleats. They are just as easy to clip in and out. The only issue I have found is that the Look Keo cleat covers do not fit as the cleats are slightly larger than the Look ones.
