Well i went out with my buddy & managed 72 miles yesterday, the first 30 miles or so where into a relatively strong headwind (heading west from the coast) aswell on top of doing most of the climbing in that time also, so it was a difficult first half, but after a cake stop at around 40 miles it got a bit easier....apart form a double snakebite puncture & a slightly buckled rear wheel after going right through a bloody pot hole :pump:
My mate went on to do over 100 miles but he's been cycling well over 25 years as oppose to my 10 months ha ha, really pleased but its also brought it home that i'll be doing twice that milage over 2 days doing the C2C in less than 2 weeks now !!!

I am doing the C2C in August so will be interested to hear a bit about routes etc...
Which bike are you using for it?

Cheers DaveyM, i'm using the Crosstrail to do the C2C so i can use that Granny gear when needed (probably most of the time ha ha) as oppose to the Compact on my Road bike, i'll give a report after we've done it no problem.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone, my only problem is my weight ......the more i cycle & fitter i get the more i feel i can treat myself, therefore the i'm still actually fighting my weight as oppose to watching it drop off....Grrrrrr

I should be a racing snake by now but unfortunately......i'm not

It's my own self discipline that is the problem......but i'm definitely fitter that is for sure

Yeah unfortunately it doesn't seem to work like that for some of us (I've gone from nothing to 400km rides over the last three years and during the same time lost very little weight). You will definitely be fitter though.

Congratulations on your new ride (and your first metric century )
