I always cycle in long tops as I an not a sun fan

One is a running top, two are Aldi tops and two are Lidl tops

Might be worth keeping an eye out for the cycling gear in the German supermarkets

I mostly wear long sleeved running tops for commuting - a bit cheaper than "proper" cycling jerseys but otherwise very similar, and I don't mind the lack of a good back pocket when commuting.

For long rides at the weekend, where I want the back pocket to carry tubes/goodies etc I've got a long sleeved Muddyfox jersey, which seems fine to me, if a bit more basic than a snazzier jersey. If you're just looking for a cheap and cheerful long-sleeved cycling jersey, pop down to Sports Direct and get one of these!

When it gets chillier I've got a zip-up soft jacket - not water-proof but plenty warm. Haven't really found a waterproof yet where the boil-in-the-bag is worth the rain proofing...

I bought one from Decathlon recently to wear at the velodrome but I've ended up wearing it out on the road and it's great. Nice material, kept me warm and £7.

Happy days!

Arm warmers and jerseys are versatile but when I know it's cold enough for long sleeves a long sleeved top is really comfy.

I use Endurance Campri sports tops which i get from amazon for about £6 each. Not sure how good they will be for the winter but I use them for the chilly mornings.

I use Decathlon's Kipstra base layers (under a s/s cycling top) either short sleeves plus arm warmers or long sleeves if I know it's going to be a cold one i.e. morning winter commute. Help to wick sweat away from your body.
