I have convinced myself that after such a nice summer we are going to get a cold winter , so can anybody recommend a decent and well priced( cheap) long sleeve cycle top to go under my Softshell jacket. I DO feel the cold and yes before the willy wavers say it yes i can go faster ^_^^_^ .BUT would rather the option of staying warm all through the ride ..Thanks in advance:thumbsup:

Pearl Izumi Quest - got a red one recently from Wheelies for £28 I think (comes in other colours too) - note, fairly true to size, not a race fit but with long sleeves!

It's more like a normal jersey material, not thermal like most long sleeve stuff

Otherwise, get a quality merino baselayer (note cheap = scratchy)

My plan is for the short sleeve/ arm warmer combo for as long as possible- even when the soft shell kicks in, and then my Aldi long sleeve after that.

We don't really get cold down here- not like some folk on here anyway.

I can vouch for the Pearl Izumi sizing; it did what it said on the tin for me.
I bought a full kit in my size and it was perfect.

+ 1 for theTorm jerseys.

As mentioned, the Tenn stuff is pretty good, there is also an Aldi event on Thursday

not necessarily cheap but a way off of the top labels are Torm, I got one after recommendations on here and it's really good

I was bought a T8 as a present and it served me very well all through last winter and will be being pressed in to service again fairly soon now. I do also have the option of arm warmers now, which do the job, but when I know I'm going to leave my arms covered both ways I'll go to the long sleeve, less faff. I'm more likely to be too cold than too warm, so I'm happy to take the risk on going to sleeves early in the Autumn/changing back to short sleeves late in the Spring.
