Hi everyone,

I am trying to find a good pair of long fingered gloves that are waterproof and windproof. I am looking for spring/bad weather gloves. Something that has good padding and is about £20-£30.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you.

Hello, Mr/Mrs/Ms Foolsgold!

I got some in the Black's sale last year - not cycling-specific but they are Thinsulate wind- and water-proof black long-fingered gloves with a grippy bit on the palms. Because they were in the sale I got them for £6 instead of the usual £12 so I was pretty chuffed with myself, especially since they are that rare thing - they absolutely work. I have tried them on numerous outings over the winter and thy are completely windproof, which means your little digits stay lovely and toasty! Don't think they were a specific make, but if you look in some of the outfoor clothing shops, as opposed to bike specialist shops, you may find them a bit cheaper. Blacks, Oswald Baily, Cotswold Clothing, places like that sell them - and who knows, in spite of the re-appearance of Arctic conditions again this week, you may pick up a bargain! Also try Cycle Express on the website, maybe Amazon do some too, you never know!

I find with long finger gloves it what you are going to do with them that counts. My Radiant's are great but too warm this time of year and prefer my cheap Aldi pair for this time of year. On my road bike I prefer the dexterity offered by my Endura (Strike I think)

I only wear long finger gloves. my weapon of choice for temperatures above 5 degrees is the defeet duraglove. They are not completely waterproof, but don't slide around on your hands when they are wet and dry very quickly. there isn't much in the way of padding either but they do have a non slip palm. They are the best gloves I have used (worth a look).
