is it me or does anyone else prefer not to invite strangers from the internet into my home for a free used cheap bike?

If i was planning a trip of this nature my investigation would take in more than a post on a forum of strangers
I have taken strangers into my house (off Warmshowers.com) and also been hosted several times in NZ. It has been a life enriching experience. Sharon has given a mass of personal info which allows anyone to check her out. So I would not worry on that count.

The bike quality is not one that would appeal to me for a round trip to Wales. However I did "distress" one very like that recently for my student daughter to have in London. They will sell easily and in a day or two on Gumtree

Since Sharon is looking to give/throw away the bikes, why not host her, then flog them on EBay or Gumtree, then keep the cash (if she agrees) or give to a charity.

Sharon, as a keen cycle tourist, if you can stretch to it, go for a slightly better bike. Carrera Subway from Halfords is a good hybrid. Although I would personally avoid Halfords (and especially avoid their Apollo bikes)

As a wannabee Ironman (36 days and counting!) I offer my respect for your long distance exploits!

the cost of what your asking outweighs the cost of the bikes
Maybe helping someone is worth more than the potential financial gain?
