I can make around a 16mph avg moving speed on short journeys of 10-15 miles, but if I did the MILES Nigelnaturist does, I'd be slower, more like 13.5mph.

Good point, anything under ten miles on the road I can do around 15mph. Circa 20 miles it drops to about 14mph, put in cycle paths and it drops to circa 13.5mph.

mmm im faster than i think then, i have allways used whole jorney time including stopped time for my aveage speed, rolling time only seems a bit of a get out but would make me much faster lol bet i dont arrive any sooner though

I use the Garmin Edge 705 and it logs both. I have my device set up to auto pause when bike is stationary.
