I recently bought the Abus Granit X 54 like vickster has and it's a pretty meaty lock which according to the tests I've read takes 2 cuts to get it open. I actually bought this in preparation of taking out specific bike insurance as wasn't that pleased with the home insurance I had after my last theft but then decided to just stick with them and they don't actually specify a need for a certified lock. Anyway I now lock it up with this and a covered chain lock which I also think is made by Abus and conveniently wraps around my waist for my commute into work. I also use both locks to lock it up to my kitchen furniture in case anyone decides to come back and try take this bike too.

Can you recommend good cycle insurance companies?! I'm fairly new to this so even a google doesn't help as I've never heard of half of the people!
