Use a cable for the front, or better still an ABUS BORDO - got one myself - no-one knows how to deal with them ! ^_^
I've spent enough for one week, including my bike, but that looks fantastic, will be on my Christmas list :-).

Why do you use the D on the back and the cable on the front and frame/forks. Surely better to secure the easier to remove front wheel and not the harder to remove wheel with all the gearing nonsense
I'd assumed that because the frame is much closer to the rear wheel, so seems easier to fit the lock round. See what you're saying though, I'll have to try it in practice.

Primary locking method.

Lock bike and rear wheel through rear triangle and back wheel. Needs to be by the rear brake bridge for a FAGH as the gap is tiny. No tools can get in.

Getting a front wheel stolen is less an option than a primary locking method. I really like the Bordo as a secondary lock as it's very rare in use, and will completely throw the casual thief (will resist most tools) Never had an issue using it with my FAGH, even in prime spots.

Locking bikes is a night mare.

Spent a fortune myself. But bike is still there when I come out of the office.

Don't start on garage security... that's got crazy after a few attempted break ins.

The reason you use the d-lock on the rear rather than the front (easier to remove admitedly) is cost. The front wheel replacement is cheaper than the rear, remember the cassette comes on the rear.

Best option that I have read is two different types of lock. Thief may have tools for one but not the other. Add a cable in for good measure between the two and should be set imho.

The nice bright orange of a kryptonite will probably stop most and make them look for something easier to have.

Also, lock it up in plain view not hidden away, and try and do it where there are plenty of bikes as the thief will have plenty to choose from.
