OK I have been a member for less than 2 hours and already I have seen one thread locked because a few people asked a question. Is this a good indication of how things work around here? If so the tag line "A fun and friendly online cycling community" should read "A Cycling Forum Dictatorship"

Which thread were you thinking of?

Very few threads get locked around here, and seldom do people get evicted. If you found a locked thread it might be that this is a continuing historical argument, or things were getting personal.

Oh, and welcome by the way - if you decide to stay

It is locked because it's been done before and I've no desire to go over old ground.

Have a look in the support forum archives and you'll find the previous similar discussions.

I've invited the posters in the support thread to report things to me via PM so I can look into resolving them.

Cheers,
Shaun

In my experience as a user I have only seen threads locked which seem to be either opening old wounds unnecessarily or have descended into petty arguments.

I've not been around here that long, but I cant agree with your statement.

Thank you for that. It just seemed slightly worrying that one had been locked within minutes of me replying to it.

Don't worry, it wasn't you.

Strange, I would have thought 2 hours was a very short length of time to get a feel for a place, let alone start wading in about how it should be run. I defend your right to have an opinion and say it and all that jazz, but I also defend the right of people to query your stance and intent

I did not mean to offend anyone. I am very sorry indeed if I have.
