Lock wouldn't unlock - aaargh!

Will bolt cutters get through a case hardened lock? We're talking a top quality u-bolt type thing.

Put a sizzor jack in between the u-bolt and wind open, the force of doing so breaks the lock. (need a strong jack though, and big arms to crank it open)
I lost a key to a highly rated U-Lock (gold secure) in wide use by people on this forum and the bloke I paid to come and cut it off, just got the jack out of his van and did it that way.
Worked a treat, which is why I will also never have a U-Lock again.

The only thing that could have improved the situation is daily photos of the bike in situ, as it were, to stir up a little more empathy and highlight the bike cruelty more vividly in peoples minds, maybe a short documentary on what it got up to whilst incarcerated
