Little things that make you happy

Good weather (sunny, dry, 20+ degrees and a gentle breeze).

Peace and quiet.

Having time, and not being too knackered to settle down with a good book for 3-4 hours.

Friday afternoons, when I'm not working weekends, and heading off to the misses' summer house, then the above three generally come to fruition.

Crushing egg boxes flat to go in the recycling. With my bare feet.

Crunching razor shells when walking on the beach. Strangely satisfying.

Watching my grandson, who faces the life long challange of autism, overcome a difficulity or simply hold a short converstion with me.
Watching the sun rise on a clear morning
The warmth of the sun on my back

Cleaning and servicing my bike and keeping it in perfect condition.

Funny isn't it? That's something that I'd get more satisfaction from doing myself.

I agree. Was chuffed with first attempt last week but as i was in lbs anyway and he wasnt busy....

Crushing your enemies. Seeing them driven before you. Hearing the lamentations of their women.

Some things here are not exactly 'little things'... visits from grandchildren/things with the wife/partner/lover etc are pretty big in my book.

Finally getting hold of that awkward bogie , a sneeze into the light, clean bed sheets, the soud of ice cubes cracking in a G+T , a brand new pair of socks. These are the little things...
