Is there any particular lumens and battery capacity I should be looking at?

Could someone post a link to an example on eBay.

How are the battery packs recharged? Just plugged into a wall socket?

I also use a Cree style torch. It's called a small sun XML T6 1000 lumens and it has a rechargeable battery, you can focus the beam wide or narrow.
They use the same led torches on guns believe it or not. Good old eBay and it came with a clamp to hold it snug on my bars.

Take the battery out and charge it in a wall socket charger.

If any one has an old laptop that has died, the batteries in the battery pack are the same, so you can dismantle the pack strip the batteries and charge them.

The soft button on the end of the torch does look like a weak point. I suppose you can always slip a small plastic bag around it if you want to protect it from the worse of the weather. It should still fit in the clamp.

You get what you pay for and for the peanuts I paid it's given great service.

Not complaining it was cheap, my cree T6 has been fine, but again, it takes some stick, has has needed a few remedial repairs.

Had mine over a year now. No problems yet and it's cheap. Less than a tenner!

That's the one I've just put on my bike (with the Aldi one at the rear).

I'm just about to try this one from Ebay:

It's smaller and lighter (it only needs one AAA battery) so for less than a fiver, what is there to lose .

LED technology is so cheap now. I am amazed that the cycle light manufactures charge so much for their units.
I've seen 32" LED TV;s for less money than some light sets. I know they need to make a bit of money back for R&D, but i still don't feel they can justify what they charge.

For less than £4 including delivery i think i will get one as a spare. It will fit in the saddle bag no probs.
