There's prob already a thread on this (and please do point me in that direction if there is!) I am after a cycling jacket that is primarily easy to carry and waterproof so that I can bring with me on long rides/sportives.....and not have to carry in a pannier......which is what I am having to do at present with my altura night vision evo (great jacket but bulky)

Check out Aldi when they have a cycling event. I got one from there that is really tiny. It's not the most durable i suspect but it has lasted several years of very occasional use. I think it was about £10.

+ lots. Featherweight & does what it says on the tin. A bit boil in the bag but no worse than ones costing lot more. They pack tiny into their own pouch which will easily fit in a jersey pocket or under the saddle rails/wrapped around a tube.

I've had a couple of these Altura Jackets. Now discontinued and replaced with the pocket rocket which as far as I can tell is the same with less reflectives, but large and medium avaiable at Cycling Weekly. Has the high cut front which feels inadequate off the bike but is actually just right on the bike. Liked it enough to replace like for like when first one was ruined in a crash.

B'twin. Rolls down to about the size of a toilet roll cardboard tube.
I have a btwin jacket , maybe a bit bigger but truely waterproof.

I have just ordered a Berghaus Pacalite after it was recommended by one of the Lejog guys on here. It gets great reviews on Amazon.

Got the Aldi one which was about a tenner as mentioned above. Does the job pretty well but you will be soaking wet with sweat after a while. Keeps you dry on the outside but not underneath

I picked one of these jackets up, vapour, from merlin cycles. It easily fits into my rear pocket. I've only used it a couple of times, so far, in the rain. But it has performed well. As for longevity, only time will tell.
