Yes I have them on my old MTB.

Do the job tbh.

Don't know if the compound has changed since sports direct took over?

I had the 700c version from Wiggle - this is what they looked like after just a couple of months of low mileage use. Wasn't impressed

I had the lifeline race tyres although they looked the business they were really slow , in fact cheap zaffiros came out a lot better in tests than these tyres so i binned them in the end .Gawd only knows how bad the commuters must be .

I would say avoid. I had mine about a year and used them for commuting. Rolled OK, but the tyre separated from the bead quite dramatically and dumped me on the tarmac - I was lucky it was on a shared path and not on the road, or at speed. I've never had a tyre do that. I put the Schwalbe Landcruisers back on. I have seen other reviews where bead separation was mentioned.
