My wireless Lidl computer has stopped working and I'm at a loss as to know what's causing it. I've put a new battery in the transmitter on the fork, the transmitter and sensor thing are as close as they can get without touching and the computer on the handlebars seems to be performing as usual. Any suggestions?

Have you given the connectors a scrape on the mount and the computer.....use a screwdriver....

Can you hear a little tick as the wheel goes round ? - You'll need somewhere quiet to hear it.... this is the micro switch clicking as the magnet passes....

It's wireless so there aren't any connectors, are there? I can't see any.

I couldn't hear any clicking but I don't think I ever have. My hearing's not fantastic though.

Seems to be working this morning so must just have been the battery. My spinning the wheel as a test obviously wasn't good enough.

The computer responds to average revs of the front wheel rather than just single revs. Consequently, it may need 10 or so revs to display anything, which is rather a lot to spin if you are just holding the front wheel off the ground and spinning the wheel with your other hand. If it has the little bike icon on it, you'll notice the "wheels" going round before it begins to register a speed.

Hope that helps.

Ummm..not quite.

My Cateye died
I don't know why.
I gave it a new battery,
some flattery
It was new
but it did not meow
I took it back
all in black
A sad day
but, hey!

Gave it a new battery and it's working perfectly again. It's just my testing that's faulty...

Does anyone know what the little spanner on the Lidl computer means and how to get rid of it ?

Can't find the instructions and need to change the clock too.

I have an old Lidl cycle computer and the spanner means it wants a service (when you initially set it up you tell it whether you want the service warning at 400, 600 or 800 miles).

For my computer you press the left hand button once which removes the spanner; it's the same button you use to reset the daily mileage, if that helps.

To change the clock on mine I just scroll round to the clock screen, press the left (reset) button for a few seconds, then I can do it.

Always worth taking a note of your overall mileage before fiddling with the Lidl computer as I managed to completely reset mine fairly easily (although I had a total mileage record on Cyclogs, fortunately).

The darn batteries are the most expensive part of these Lidl/Aldi computers. A bit of a bummer if you need to replace them soon after buying one.
